Following a drilling programme at Birim Goldfields' Chert Ridge prospect at the Cluster property in Ghana, the mining company has said that further gold intercepts were located.

Birim has been using the contractors Minerex Drilling for the exploration work and a total of 32 reverse circulation drill holes were made at the property.

The assay results from six of the 32 holes are still due but those already received show two zones that contain gold mineralisation with drilling in zone A intersecting ten metres at 3.09 grams per tonne.

Also discovered in zone A was a gold grade of 2.88 grams per tonne over 12 metres and in zone B, a 6.84 grams of gold per tonne was intercepted over 13 metres.

Furthermore, drilling at Birim's Chenchu Mountain prospect is continuing at this present time with 14 of the 30 planned drill holes completed.

Birim's site office is situated in the Ghanaian capital of Accra and the company says that it has "established a strong network of business contacts and binding relationships with the people of Ghana".
