Alcaston Mining, soon to be known as Golden Rim Resources, will start work at its gold mine in Fiji as soon as the festive celebrations are over.

The Australia-based exploration company has moved a drill over to the Sabeto site in order for the 3,000 metre drilling programme to commence shortly after Christmas.

The firm has said it looks forward to good road access to the site because it has built an all-weather gravel road which will allow for drilling to continue unscathed during wet weather conditions.

Drilling is going to be on a 24 hour, six days per week basis so that the firm can test direct strike extensions to the 450,000 ounce Tavutu gold deposit. After three months the company expects to have identified bulk tonnage gold targets.

It is a time of great change for Alcaston Mining because they have appointed a new exploration manager for three projects in Fiji as well as the imminent name change which it hopes will cement a new era for the firm.
