Lincoln Gold is to begin drilling work at its Jenny Hill property in Walker Lane, Nevada, in January next year, it has been announced.

Various targets will be focused on, the mining company has said, at the site that comprises a large claim block and is located near to two gold mines that were previously operational - Paradise Peak and Denton Rawhide.

Exploration will encompass 20 drill holes and the US-based Lincoln Gold is set to target the gold skarn, Triassic luning formation and stockworks that could possibly be gold-bearing.

The property at Jenny Hill is a joint venture between Lincoln and Kinross, the seventh largest gold producer in the world. Following the agreement in December 2005, Kinross is now eligible to earn anything up to a 75 per cent interest at the property.

Lincoln has said that the possibility is there for a Carlin-type gold deposit at the north end of the claim block at Jenny Hill and so far, drilling has never taken place at the property.
