Results of 2006 announced by CarpathianThe news feeds on this site are independently provided by Adfero Limited © and do not represent the views or opinions of the World Gold Council. Thursday, 28th December 2006 (3260 views) Carpathian Gold has issued the results from its exploration work throughout 2006.The firm has been focussing on Romania with discovery drilling focussed on the Rovina and Colnic systems. Four diamond drill rigs were used to explore these two areas and eventually some 24,000 metres of the core were drilled. Taking a results-driven approach also required delineation which Carpathian also undertook at the two systems. At Rovina one highlight from drill work entailed 18 holes made over 8,424 metres and defined gold mineralisation as between 0.3 grams of gold per tonne and 0.8 grams of gold per tonne. This continued over an area measuring 350 metres by 500 metres. All drill core has been cut and sampled every metre which produced over 28,000 assay results. Meanwhile at the Colnic system 49 core holes have been made over 15,715 metres with gold mineralisation defined over an area of 520 metres by 350 metres. The highlight of this system’s drill intersections is a stretch of 100 metres with a gold grade of 1.34 grams of gold per tonne and mineralisation essentially starts at surface.
