Tuesday, 30th January 2007 (7923 views) In a move intended to promote Dubai's jewellery on the internet, the web based business to business facilitator Polygon has joined forces with the Dubai Gold and Jewellery Group (DGJG).As a result of the partnership, DGJG members will be able to use Polygon as a launch pad to get a foothold into the business to business marketplace. In addition, DGJG will enable Polygon the opportunity to become more involved in the Dubai City of Gold scheme which was the first online jewellery marketplace in Dubai. Marie-Josee Trepanier, chief executive officer of Polygon, Dubai, told AME business resource: "Dubai is at the crossroads of global trade in the jewellery industry and we are pleased that the [DGJG] has chosen to align itself with our organization and take advantage of our industry specific services." The managing director of DGJG Tawhid Abdullah reinforced his commitment to the project, saying the internet would reach a "global audience". Buyers will be provided with free access to purchase products on Polygon under the terms of the deal and in doing so will be able to broaden the range of sellers it comes into contact with.
