Seabridge's Mitchell discovery has "expansion potential"The news feeds on this site are independently provided by Adfero Limited © and do not represent the views or opinions of the World Gold Council. Tuesday, 20th February 2007 (3151 views) After carrying out a National Instrument 43-101 compliant study of the Mitchell gold-copper discovery, Seabridge Gold has declared that potential exists at the site for "significant expansion potential".The exploration work at the Kerr-Sulphurets project near Stewart, British Columbia found an inferred resource of 13.1 million ounces of gold alongside copper, amounting to 2.23 billion pounds. Seabridge Gold is basing its mineral resources estimate on more than 9,500 metres worth of core drilling that has been undertaken at the Mitchell gold-copper discovery. Rudi Fronk, Seabridge president and CEO, said: "This year's programs will focus on advancing both by updating the Preliminary Assessment at Courageous Lake and continuing to drill at Mitchell to expand and upgrade the resource, as well as conducting metallurgical studies to determine expected metal recoveries." He added that his company could not be more buoyed than the results they have received so far this year. Grades of both gold and copper have been described as "remarkably consistent" in a range of places around the strike length. An independent qualified person prepared the gold resource estimates in collaboration with Resource Modeling.
