Tuesday, 27th February 2007 (5871 views) London department store Selfridges is having a gold theme this year and as part of its gilded store decorations, the shop has commissioned a chocolate fountain to be created out of gold.Giles & Posner, a leading chocolate fountain manufacturer, has been asked to design and make a stunning 24-carat gold plated fountain in an innovative and modern design. The firm already makes golden fountains although it sells them in extremely limited numbers with just four currently available at a price of £5,000, all sold in Selfridges. Justin Posner, from Giles & Posner, said: "When asked to create this Christmas's most spectacular chocolate fountain we went all out and came up with our new gold plated version." He explained that gold and chocolate work well together because they are two of the most precious and enjoyed gifts. Mr Posner added: "We are delighted to have our new fountain showcased and available for purchase exclusively at Selfridges." The fountains are cordless and re-chargeable, compatible with all types of chocolate and are deemed to be the most luxurious chocolate fountains in all the world.
