Tuesday, 27th February 2007 (3170 views) Aura Gold has announced its initial reconnaissance drill results at its project in north-central Brazil.Diamond drilling continues at the mine which is located in Para State and is called the Cumaru Project. One highlight from the latest drilling results included the outstanding grade of 5.34 grams of gold per tonne over a strike length of 13 metres. A part of this strike length also recorded a high-grade intercept of 44.17 grams of gold per tonne over one metre while the whole project has a minimum length of 3,000 metres. The drilling programme here was begun in late 2006 with ten holes out of the planned 20 now drilled at three targets called Mineiro, Gradaus and Daniel. Aurus Gold is a very active gold mining enterprise which aims to become the pre-eminent mineral explorer in Brazil and to become the Brazilian exploration partner of choice for international mining firms interested in a joint venture. The firm has property acquisitions which cover four areas and total 600,000 hectares within the Para State and in particular within the Carajas Metallogenic Province.
