Wednesday, 21st March 2007 (2012 views) A radio show focussing on the prolific Valley of Gold (Val d'Or) in Quebec, Canada, has been aired on the country's RadioFN station.Hosted by Michael Blackstone, the programme focused on Abcourt Mines providing insights about the prevalence of minerals along the Cadillac fault in the Valley of Gold. Featuring interviews with mining journalist David Bond and geological engineer Yves Gagnon, the programme also assessed the feasibility of Abcourt reopening the Abcourt-Barvue Silver/Zinc mine in the Valley of Gold. The interview also revealed that there remains the possibility of further exploring the mine and potentially double the existing resources in the process. Some of Abcourt's most important projects lie in these areas, in what is believed to be one of the most mining-friendly regions in North America. Abcourt possesses both a sliver/zinc mine and a past-producing gold mine, the Elder gold mine.
