Pan African Mining is "pleased" to release "positive" assay results pertaining to its Mountain of Gold project, located in Madagascar.

The highlight of the drilling campaign at the project was 8.3 metres at 14.72 grams of gold per tonne as well as 55.10 grams per tonne over 0.40 metres.

Phase II of drilling continues to take place at the company's Mountain of Gold project and is focused specifically, at present, on the Dablova East zone.

Irwin Olian, chief executive officer of Pan African Mining, said: "We are pleased to see a continuation of high grade intersections as we move throughout the Dabolava East zone. This will enable us to further refine our geologic model with a view toward delineating a commercial deposit."

Other targets will be tested during the Phase II drilling programme such as those identified on the north east and south west trends. These include a total of seven anomalies that were spotted last year following geochemical studies.
