The first phase of a drill programme at Consolidated Gold Win Ventures' (CGW's) Dolly Varden Claims is set to be finished soon.

Located in Elko county, Nevada, the 10,000 feet worth of drilling work will be completed once the 14th hole has been drilled at the site. Sampling will now focus on "whole sections of drill holes in light of the geological environment that has been discovered".

"Success" that has accompanied the first phase of drilling to date is such that CGW has stated that in order to get the most from the Nevada area in terms of gold yields, bearing in mind the "major deposits" in the region, it must proceed "meticulously" in order to understand "all the implications of the success".

CGW has stated that a 3D induced polarization survey undertaken in the past year has "outlined a chargeability zone coincident with the areas of rock mineralisation that is at least 3,000 feet long and up to 1,000 feet wide".

The potential of the Dolly Varden Claims, which has produced gold and copper, is eagerly awaited due to the adjacent Victoria mine producing 24 million pounds of copper between the 1970s and 1980s.
