Cardero Resources Corporation has announced a 2,750 metre diamond drilling programme has been launched at its property in north-western Argentina.

The firm owns the Incahuasi sediment hosted vein gold property in its entirety and it is located in the Catamarca province of the country.

Recent trenching work just 200 metres away from the project at the Western mine has revealed promising grades. One highlight was the 33.5 metre stretch at a grade of 3.35 grams of gold per tonne. Some 14 metres within this measured 6.9 grams of gold per tonne.

The programme at Incahuasi is designed to test its potential to host its own significant gold deposit and down dip workings of the mine will be concentrated on.

At the moment historical exploration work indicates that the principle mined fault zone is 600 metres to 800 metres down-dip – making it an attractive prospect for the company.

Cardero Resources Corporation is a well-financed mineral exploration company which is currently focussing on Mexico, Peru and Argentina.
