Drilling work that has just been completed on Patagonia Gold's La Paloma property has been described as "very encouraging" in terms of results obtained, according to Interactive Investor.

The highlight of the results found at the Argentinean Lomado de Leiva project was the 6.87 grams of gold per tonne found over 18 metres.

Other results yielded from the drilling work measured between 1.19 grams of gold per tonne over eight metres to 13.45 grams per tonne of gold over six metres.

Aside from the Lomado de Leiva, Patagonia Gold has also been drilling at the Breccia Sofia prospect which lies adjacent to the former.

Patagonia Gold is focused on exploring Argentina and has more than 100 properties in the South American country which account for around 5,000 kilometres worth of land.

To surmise, the "company's aim is to build a portfolio of highly prospective properties which have the potential to be developed into a multi-million ounce resources in order to maximise shareholders' return".
