The first copper-gold concentrates have been found at Sherwood Copper Corporation's Minto Mine in Yukon, it has been announced.

Commissioning of the mill components at the Minto Mine is scheduled to run over the coming weeks and is to be completed by the end of June, Sherwood reports.

Furthermore, following on from the completion of commissioning, the mining operation is predicted be at full production after three months.

President of Sherwood noted that the results marked an exciting day for the company.

"In less than two years we acquired the partially constructed but dormant Minto project, re-drilled the resources to reserve standards, completed a bankable feasibility study, arranged project financing, built a brand new mine and staffed it for production," he added.

Minto Mine is a high grade copper-gold mine and is located in Canada, it is owned by a subsidiary of Sherwood, Minto Explorations. It is an open pit mining operation and produces significant gold credits.
