"High grade gold" discovered in Africa

Thursday, 31st May 2007 (2337 views)

An amount of "high grade gold" has been discovered at the Agbaou Gold Deposit in southern Cote d'Ivoire.

Etruscan Resources released drill results from its majority owned Agbaou Gold Deposit today which revealed several high grade intercepts showing readings of 10.7 metres of 8.1 grams of gold per tonne (g/t), 16.5 metres of 6.8 g/t and 19.5 metres of 6.2 g/t.

Additionally, a number of new gold targets over a nine-by-five kilometre area in the Agbaou deposit area are being tested with diamond drilling by Etruscan.

"These results from the southern portion of the main deposit are quite exceptional and more importantly have demonstrated that the mineralized structures remain open at depth," commented Don Burton, Etruscan's vice president of exploration.

Agbaou is an advanced stage gold project which is located in the Cote d'Ivoire, West Africa, and is the third largest undeveloped gold resource in the country.

Etruscan's current gold mining projects also include the Youga Gold project in Burkina Faso, the Diba Gold project in Mali, the Finkolo Gold project in Mali and the Banfora Gold Belt in Burkina Faso.
