Australian gilding corporation Art Gilding claims that its pure gold leaf can help designers to create a "wow" effect on walls.

Art Gilding told Info Link that using a pure metal leaf such as gold on walls results in a "distinct" shimmering look, which cannot be achieved with paint or other finish. It added that the natural metal surface is highly durable and long-lasting.

Recently, Art Gilding gave a demonstration on how to apply gold leaf onto a moulding frame at a framing show in Darling Harbour, Sydney.

The gold gilding company has worked on a number of well-known projects, such as the Coach by Jim Frecklington.

The Black and Gold Coach was commissioned by the New South Wales government and presented to Queen Elizabeth II as a gift for the bicentenary celebrations for the Australian state in 1988.

Mr Frecklington also commissioned the chariot for the 2000 Olympic Games which were held in Sydney. Art Gilding decorated the chariot in 24-carat gold leaf.
