Minyanville invents Mr T 'gold indicator'The news feeds on this site are independently provided by Adfero Limited © and do not represent the views or opinions of the World Gold Council. Thursday, 26th July 2007 (1934 views) A tongue-in-cheek "technical indicator" known as the Mr T gold indicator has been devised by financial infotainment website Minyanville to help anticipate "prospective exhaustion points" in gold price data, it claims.Minyanville comments that the light-hearted measurement tool is based on the appearance and popularity of Mr T - with these factors acting as a subconscious sign to tell consumers when gold has reached an important price peak. However, the gold indicator may not be an accurate method of predicting gold value movements, Resource Investor notes. "Seriously? Well, no. But it's fun to see how the highs and lows in Mr. T's life correlate with the gold market," the trade news site commented. Mr T became well-known for his love of gold and catchphrase "I pity the fool" - taken from his scene in the Sylvester Stallone film Rocky III. According to TV Acres, Mr T's cluster of gold necklaces and rings - which he cleaned nightly with an ultrasonic cleaner - were once worth around $300,000 (£150,000) and took him an hour to put on.
