Friday, 27th July 2007 (2912 views) Exploration work on gold discovery company Roxmark Mines' western extension of Northern Empire gold mine property has been initiated.According to Roxmark, its geological team has begun exploration work - including mapping, trenching and channel sampling of prospective zones - on its newly-acquired properties along strike from Roxmark's Northern Empire gold mine property. Peter Bevan is supervising the programme which is designed to evaluate whether the zones represent the western extension of gold mineralization on the Northern Empire property. "Historically, the Northern Empire Mine produced 149,053 ounces of gold from 425,866 tonnes with a recovery of 0.35 oz in gold per tonne. The mine was serviced by a shaft to 2,460 feet with development above and below a major flat diabase sill," Roxmark noted. Roxmark currently mines six gold properties including Northern Empire, which have produced almost two million ounces of gold from high grade ore.
