AmMex to commence second stage gold drillingThe news feeds on this site are independently provided by Adfero Limited © and do not represent the views or opinions of the World Gold Council. Friday, 27th July 2007 (2840 views) Precious metal exploration company AmMex Gold has received a drill permit for its second phase of drilling at its Bailey Hills project on the southeast extension of the Carlin Trend.According to AmMex, the drilling programme is designed to test the "strong gravity anomaly" extending north from the area where previous drilling was focussed. Second-stage drilling in the region is expected to commence this autumn and exploration manager Bill Reed noted that he was "anxious" to continue the drill program at Bailey Hills. "Our previous drill testing in the southern area of the project intersected some long intersects of anomalous gold and these results suggest potential for stronger mineralization to the north, the target we will be drill testing in this next phase," he commented. The gold project consists of 150 mining claims in the south of the Carlin trend and roughly 11 per cent of the world's production of gold is annually derived from this region, according to AmMex. AmMex also holds an 80 per cent interest in seven Mexican gold concessions known as El Tiliche.
