A yellow and white gold necklace belonging to rapper Lil John has made the Guinness Book of World Records, it has been revealed.

Luxist reports that pendant, which reads "Crunk Ain't Dead", measures is 7.5 inches in height, six inches in width and weighs nearly 12 pounds.

The necklace reached the record books for being the largest ever diamond pendant with 3,756 round-cut white diamonds set in the 18-carat yellow and white gold. The gold jewellery is valued at around $500,000 (£250,000).

Forbes claims that celebrities are getting more ostentatious in their wearing of jewellery, noting Eva Longoria's gold-plated and diamond-flecked hair clips, worn for her recent wedding.

Furthermore, it reveals that Lindsay Lohan's once had a set of Fred Segal gold handcuffs - estimated retail price $820 - dangling from her car rear-view mirror, while Forbes notes that rapper-producer Pharrell Williams owns a gold-plated BlackBerry.
