An area of gold mineralisation has been discovered by mineral exploration company First Narrows Resources, it has been announced.

First Narrows reports that it established the mineralised porphyry north of its Tecoripa East Property in Sonara, Mexico.

Free fine gold was discovered at the zone through both crushing and panning, First Narrows noted.

"The siliceous alteration occurs as an intense and vuggy development, in which finely disseminated sulphide mineralisation is present. Grab samples of the mineralised porphyry have been sent for analysis," the company noted in a statement.

According to First Narrows, over 20 fine gold colours have been panned from one a five kilogramme sample of porphyry.

In July, First Narrows recovered angular nuggets and grains of gold from the Lupita Gold Zone in Mexico.
