Not for beginners, a new set of playing cards have been launched by Italian manufacturer Museo del Tempo, although unlike a Royal Flush, you are guaranteed a golden flush with every hand played.

Approved by the World Poker Association, the cards are made of pure gold and were manufactured by means of a technology which prints and laminates sheets of thin, flexible and pure gold.

The cards can be shuffled as a regular paper deck is, Museo del Tempo reveals.

"Absolutely amazing, it is an emotion to touch cards of real gold! Here there is no trick," exclaimed Silvan, a two-time winner of the International Prize of the Magicians.

The cards are limited edition and have already sold out in Russia, Museo del Tempo claims.

Each gold card weighs 0.79 grammes of gold with a full deck weighing in at 42.66 grammes of gold.

In related news, the World Series of Poker is coming to the UK with three official gold bracelets up for grabs for tournament winners.
