New Brunswick the 'best area for junior companies'The news feeds on this site are independently provided by Adfero Limited © and do not represent the views or opinions of the World Gold Council. Wednesday, 29th August 2007 (2871 views) The Canadian province of New Brunswick is one of the best areas for junior companies to explore, according to the president of Stratabound Minerals.Stan Stricker, who is also a professional geologist, has offered that the geology, infrastructure and policy of Canada and the New Brunswick area in particular make it perfect for gold exploration. Stratabound Minerals has invested in gold prospecting in the area over recent years and "has been rewarded with a number of high-potential discoveries", Mr Stricker writes on the Language Matters blog, with New Brunswick's Bathurst Mining Camp home to one of the world's largest accumulations of volcanic base metal deposits. With good rail transport and roadways, as well as the close accessibility of the waterway at Bathurst, transportation of metal deposits is easy. The industry is also a key part of the provincial economy, Mr Stricker says. "New Brunswick typifies the political stability, economic sophistication and resource extraction expertise of Canada," according to the Stratabound president, which means a "sensible" approach with companies required to match any grants with their own funding. Finally, the geologist behind the firm, which was incorporated in 1986 as a private company, offers that the area is under-explored for gold, suggesting that junior companies could well find a foothold in New Brunswick.
