Gold guitar sculptures displayed in CanadaThursday, 29th November 2007 (2756 views) An art venue in Oakville, Ontario is to feature an exhibit of high-end guitars designed by German guitar-maker Jens Ritter, according to the Toronto Star.Among the stringed instruments set to be displayed in the collection include the 2006 Flora Aurum creation, which contains a number of 24-carat gold inlays shaped like flowers. The guitar is carved out of a single piece of quilted maple and was crafted by Mr Ritter in the west German village of Deidesheim. Oakville, which is located near the city of Toronto, is believed to be the first venue in the world to display guitars as works of art. In addition to the work of 35-year-old Jens Ritter, the gallery features a number of ornate guitar sculptures crafted by designers from Switzerland and Germany. Earlier this year, London department store Harrods featured a display of electric guitars designed by musicians and fashion icons, including Bryan Adams, Jennifer Lopez and Diane von Furstenberg.
