Clothes fashioned from spun gold were among the items on display at a recent philanthropic event in Dubai.

The Emirates Millionaire Show 2007 witnessed an exclusive selection of very important people - including His Highness Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum - join to view a selection of rare luxury items.

Accessories and clothing made from spun gold were among the highlights of the selection of items on display.

Organised by Divine Events, the three-day event is said to be gaining a reputation as one of the foremost luxury rates in the Dubai calendar.

And the luxury event was held in association with the United Nations Children Fund (Unicef), which is to receive the proceeds of an auction of the bespoke and handcrafted products hosted on the night.

"We are delighted to be associated with Unicef and the tremendous work it does for children around the world," said Bahare Majd, managing director of Divine Events.

Dubai's love of gold has gained the emirate the nickname 'City of Gold'.
