Pan African Resources has extended its strike length at the Manica Gold Project, it has emerged.

Located at Mozambique, South Africa, the Irish prospector has revealed a 200-metre extension of the strike length to over 800 metres in the group's mineralised zone, reports BizWorld.

The move comes as the firm awaits a new resource statement next month, Jan Nelson, chief executive of Pan African, is reported to have said.

Results from a pre-feasibility study are also due to be released at the end of the first quarter of 2008, but drilling has confirmed mineralisation up to 8,429 metres underground, he added.

Further drilling results are expected for the project which involves a total depth of 15,600 metres, the article noted.

Barberton mining organisations are located south of the Manica Gold Project and include the Fairview, Sheba and New Consort mines, according to information on the Pan African website.
