Tuesday, 26th February 2008 (2476 views) Ascot Resources has issued the final assay results from its 2007 exploration programme at the Dilworth property in north-west British Columbia. After surface sampling returned high-grade gold and silver mineralisation, a 36-hole, 4,850-metre drill programme was carried out at the property over the year. Dilworth's geological setting is similar to that of the gold-producing Silbak-Premier and Big Missouri properties located four kilometres to the south. Results from the four zones targeted at the property - 49er, Hammer, Below Helen and Occidental - include 124.63 g/t gold over one metre, 31.50 g/t gold over one metre and 15.10 g/t gold over two metres. Other returns include a metre of gold graded at 15 g/t, 1.2 metres of 4.76 g.t gold and 8.10 metres of 1.77 g/t gold. The company said that based on these 2007 results, which it described as "very encouraging", it is now planning a $3.2 million (£1.62 million) exploration programme at the site for 2008. Dilworth is one of three properties Ascot is developing in Canada, the others being Swamp Point in British Columbia and Victoria Island in Nunavut.
