Sultan drills gold in British ColumbiaThe news feeds on this site are independently provided by Adfero Limited © and do not represent the views or opinions of the World Gold Council. Thursday, 28th February 2008 (2529 views) Sultan Minerals has announced that deep drilling at the Kena gold property in British Columbia, Canada, has intersected gold mineralisation to a depth of 435.33 metres - "well below" any previous drilling.Key intersects from the hole, which was drilled in the property's Gold Mountain zone, include 0.84 g/t gold over 101.27 metres, 10.99 g/t gold over four metres and 9.10 g/t gold over 1.27 metres. Other results include 11.26 g/t over two metres, 7.04 g/t gold over two metres and 5.65 g/t gold over one metre. Previous drilling within the Gold Mountain zone had returned results of 1.87 g/t gold over 116.05 metres and 1.16 g/t gold over 106 metres. Sultan Minerals said the latest results are consistent with these findings and indicate that the Gold Mountain zone hosts bulk tonnage, porphyry-style gold mineralisation containing very high-grade gold shoots. The 8,000 hectare Kena gold property is located near Ymir in southern British Columbia, around 60 kilometres from the historic Rossland Mining Camp, which was the province's second largest gold district. Exploration in the area dates back to 1886.
