The best of Italian gold jewellery is to be celebrated in the latest Gold Expressions collection, it has been reported.

According to Dubai City Guide, the World Gold Council (WGC) has teamed up with trade event Vicenza Fair for the initiative, which is now in its fifth year.

Priority targets and reasons for purchase were identified in research by the WGC when picking the 317 jewels to be displayed at the show, which managing director for Middle East operations Moaz Baraket has described as an advantageous for dealers in the area.

He said: "[The show] presents an opportunity for jewellers and consumers in the region to get acquainted with the latest trends in gold jewellery."

The official acknowledged the significance of the event, commenting that it represents the emergence of the Middle East as a "top import destination for Italian jewellery".

Meanwhile, the Glendale area of California is to welcome a new branch of jeweller Tiffany & Co, where consumers can buy gold from October.
