East Asia Minerals expands gold zone in IndonesiaThe news feeds on this site are independently provided by Adfero Limited © and do not represent the views or opinions of the World Gold Council. Tuesday, 25th March 2008 (4549 views) Drilling at the Sangihe property in Indonesia has expanded a zone of near-surface epithermal gold mineralisation, the company carrying out the work has confirmed.East Asia Minerals said near-surface gold had been encountered in every hole completed in the latest round of drilling at the property's Binebase and Bawone targets. Included in these returns were results from drill hole BID-17, which encountered 35.25 metres of oxide mineralisation with an average grade of 0.68 g/t gold from the surface. This included a four-metre interval graded at 4.00 g/t gold. BID-17 also returned intersections of 0.37 g/t gold over 89.25 metres and 0.14 g/t gold over 31 metres from a depth of 96 metres. This hole was drilled to test the extension of gold mineralisation encountered in four previous holes, which start 100 metres to the south-south-west. It also tested beneath mineralisation discovered by channel sampling, which returned grades of between two and four g/t gold. Other holes completed under the latest round of drilling, include BID-16, which East Asia Minerals said encountered 108 metres of 0.36 g/t gold and may indicate the presence of an "economically significant" gold halo of higher-grade mineralisation. East Asia Minerals' projects include five concessions in Indonesia, as well as properties in Mongolia.
