Trillium North Minerals has secured a deal for a land parcel located adjacent to and on strike from the formerly producing Pickle Crow gold mine in north-west Ontario, the company has said.

The site covers approximately 4,500 hectares near the mine, which yielded a total of 1.47 million ounces of gold between 1935 and 1966.

According to Trillium North, the area adjacent to the mine remains under explored and could possibly host extensions of the gold mineralisation system found at Pickle Crow.

It has started work on an "extensive review" of available data for its staked property ahead of a potential exploration campaign.

In November 2007, the mine itself changed ownership after Premier Gold sold its interest in the site to PC Gold. The new owner plans to bring the mine back into commercial production.

Trillium North focuses on mineral exploration and development in Canada. Its other operations include the Norton Lake and Seagull properties in the Shebandowan belt and the Elephant Lake site in the Quetico belt.
