Wednesday, 26th March 2008 (2026 views) Yukon Gold has announced the appointment of Gary A Cohoon as vice-president of exploration.Mr Cohoon is a senior geologist who has worked in international exploration and mine finding for three decades specifically in the resource expansion and exploration of uranium, base metals and gold. Among other finds, he is credited with the discovery and drilling for development of the Dona Lake Gold Mine situated in Ontario which began production in 1989. Ron Mann, president and chief executive officer, said: "Yukon Gold is extremely pleased that a geologist of Gary's reputation and caliber has joined our team." In his new position, Mr Cohoon will assume overall supervision for the management, direction and supervision of the company's geological team and exploration and development activities. Earlier this month, Yukon Gold announced the signing of a contract for a preliminary economic assessment of a underground mine for the Marg Deposit that will be conducted by Scott Wilson Roscoe Postle Associates.
