Matamec Explorations has completed drilling of the first two holes at its gold property, Matheson JV.

These holes are the first in a 16-hole programme.

One hole was finished to a depth of 226 metres and at 170.2 metres intersected the mineralised volcanic mafia unit.

Hole number two intersected at 168.1 metres the mineralised volcanic mafia unit and was completed to a depth of 600 metres.

Between 5,000 and 7,000 metres are expected to be drilled as part of the programme in the Mill Creek and Colbert zone.

Matamec Explorations is a Canadian mining company and has projects in Ontario and Quebec.

In January this year it was announced that Matamec Explorations had become the operator for the Matheson JV site after acquiring a 25 per cent stake in the mine.

Explorers Alliance Corporation also has 25 per cent and Goldcorp Canada has the remaining 50 per cent.
