Monday, 23rd June 2008 (999 views) A recent fashion show in Kuala Lumpur drew attention to gold accessories designed for weddings.Held by Poh Kong Jewellers in Mid Valley Megamall, the event was aimed at couples choosing jewellery to commemorate their special day, reports the Star. Necklaces, rings and earrings from the collection were being displayed, in white gold, gold and other designs. Chief designer Melissa Tham told the publication: "Wearing a pretty gown without accessories is like displaying a Christmas tree without ornaments. Coordinated jewellery can tie your look together." A wide range of wedding bands were reportedly on offer at the event, with Siow Der Ming, head of the franchise division and international branding, stating that the rings signify "commitment". Malaysian-born singer Gary Chaw was also at the event, telling the news provider that rings were suitable for people whether married or single. The Office for National Statistics reports that there were 275,140 weddings in Britain in 2006.
