Santa Fe Gold "pleased" with work at New Mexico mine

US-based exploration firm Santa Fe Gold has revealed that it is "pleased" with progress made at its Summit mine in New Mexico and that processing of ore is expected to commence next year.

President Pierce Carson stated that the company is on track to achieve its 12-month construction schedule for the site, located in the south-west of the state.

"Our entire team is excited by the progress we are making at Summit. We are very much focused on achieving production as soon as possible," he commented.

Mr Carson added that the organisation's goal is to create a portfolio of quality development and exploration projects to ensure future growth.

So far,18 people have been recruited to work at the Summit mine and the firm is hiring several more in order to meet targets.

In other recent US gold mining news, Romarco Minerals announced that it has received approval for an extra 60,000ft of drilling to be conducted at its Haile gold mine in South Carolina.
