Tuesday, 28th October 2008 (789 views) An Aston Martin DB7 car covered in gold leaf is to go on display at the MPH Motorshow, held in London from October 30th to November 2nd.The high-end vehicle has been covered in 24-c gold by luxury customisation company Alchemist. It will be premiered at the Prestige and Performance Show as part of the exhibition - which is held at Earl's Court - the day after the new James Bond film Quantum of Solace is released. Aston Martins are frequently driven by the fictional secret agent in the movies. Jacques Blanc, the creative director for Alchemist, said: "Forget the everyday optional extras offered by car manufacturers, this is the King Midas of customisation and the gold standard of luxury." A stir was recently caused in London by the unveiling of a 50kg solid-gold statue of supermodel Kate Moss. Created by artist Marc Quinn, it is on display at the Statuephilia exhibition at the British Museum.
