Thursday, 27th November 2008 (4888 views) An auction house in Cheshire has announced that it has sold a gold and diamond ring for £32,000.Gold jewellery has remained in demand during the credit crunch and Peter Wilson auctioneers reports that two private buyers "battled it out for ownership" of the ring, which was set with an impressive 6.77-c diamond. The auction house in Nantwich, Cheshire, also sold a white gold and diamond line bracelet in the sale for £5,500. Robert Stones, Peter Wilson's principal auctioneer, told the Crewe Chronicle: "The sale indicated that there is no shortage of money available among our buyers for objects of quality that are fresh to the market and valued realistically." Elsewhere in the world, a Jacob & Co set of necklace, earrings and a ring in yellow gold with white and yellow diamonds has been sold at Sotheby's Magnificent Jewels auction in Hong Kong for $960,624 (£622,711).
