Monday, 22nd December 2008 (1359 views) Bravo Resource Partners has signed a new joint venture agreement on the Accoon mine in Ghana.The letter of intent to partner on the project within the Ashanti Gold Belt covers an area in the conglomerate of Blanket Formation and Bravo plans to dewater all of the underground workings of the mine in order to commence mine production. Jeffrey Cox, Bravo president and chief executive, said: "This is a significant and positive development for Bravo Resources." A 2001 resource estimate for the Accoon gold mine suggested an inferred resource of around five million tonnes of ore grading 11.06 g/t and containing more than 1.6 million ounces of gold. The Ashanti Gold Belt has been one of the most prolific in the world, according to Bravo, with more than 60 million ounces of gold produced in the region. Based in Calgary, Alberta, Bravo Resource Partners recently announced that it had appointed Mr Cox as president and chief executive of the company.
