Ventana Gold Company has released a second series of drill results from its ongoing gold exploration programme in the California-Vetas gold mining district.

The latest results from drilling in the district of north-east Colombia revealed that all activities and drilling to date have been focused on its 184.8-hectare La Bodega property, acquired by the firm in 2006.

Ventana has drilled 101 holes on the property since its purchase totaling 25,100m.

Gold assay results for the first 64 drill holes indicate that gold mineralisation at La Bodega is "hosted within the same broad north-east-trending fault zone as the adjoining Angostura gold deposit of Greystar Resources".

The company also reported the appointment of Meghan Brown as manager of investor relations and corporate communications, bringing with her over 15 years experience in communications and investor relations in the mining and energy sectors.

Ventana has a 3,895-hectare land position in the California-Vetas mining district, which lies around 400km north of the Colombian capital Bogota and 40km north-east of Bucaramanga.
