Monday, 23rd February 2009 (951 views) African Queen Mines has revealed that it has identified a number of new high priority gold targets in the Fingoe Belt of Mozambique.According to the Canadian company, the announcement of new targets in Tete province follows favorable results from field exploration work and a geochemical sampling programme in the area. African Queen Mines has nine prospecting licences in the Fingoe belt covering around 1,359 sq km under agreements with Manica Minerals and African Eagle Resources. The firms claims that a sampling programme carried out over the past two years has been "very effective in identifying several priority sources of anomalous gold within the region", with one target within the region covering an area of around 10km by 10km. African Queen Mines now plans to conduct further sampling and trenching over the coming months with a view to commencing core drilling later this year. Based in Vancouver, the exploratory resource business has a range of mineral properties in southern Africa, including its gold properties in Mozambique.
