Tuesday, 24th February 2009 (915 views) Keegan Resources has published the results of an infill and exploration drilling programme conducted during 2008 at its Esaase property.Highlights of the programme include 26m at 2.51 g/t gold and 23m at 3.37 g/t gold from exploration drilling. Further discoveries of 55m at 2.22 g/t gold and 99m grading 1.04 g/t gold were made from down dip step out holes in the Esaase property's main zone. Dan McCoy, Keegan Resources president and chief executive, commented: "These new results provide continued evidence of the growth potential of the Esaase deposit." He added that the company is planning a further infill and exploration drill programme to follow on from the 2008 scheme and is hoping to "rapidly advance the deposit through to pre-feasibility". Junior gold company Keegan Resources is listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange and the NYSE Alternext US and is focused on the wholly-owned Esaase and Asumura gold projects in Ghana, west Africa.
