A number of gold items are on display at the newly-reopened Baghdad museum in Iraq.

The Iraqi National Museum has been partially reopened almost six years after it was looted of many of its treasures during the 2003 conflict and a number of priceless gold items are now on show.

However, gold jewellery and ceremonial objects found in the ancient royal tombs of Ur and Nimrud are being held in a secure location until it is safe for them to be placed on display.

A reinauguration ceremony has taken place with prime minister Nuri al-Maliki and a special exhibit features thousands of recovered items stolen from the museum's galleries and storage rooms.

Elsewhere, ancient gold jewellery has been placed on display at the Meadows Museum in Dallas, Texas as part of a display focusing on Etruscan art and society.

Highlights of the exhibition include three sets of crescent-shaped earrings and a pair of large gold earrings shaped like grape clusters.
