Clogau Gold is donating £50 to Comic Relief from the sale of each bracelet in its new range in support of a group of celebrities undertaking a climb of Kilimanjaro for the appeal.

The challenge - led by singer Gary Barlow - is attempting to raise £1 million for charity by ascending Africa's highest mountain, which stands at 19,341 ft high.

Clogau is donating the money from each £199 bracelet - which contains 9-ct rose gold from the firm's mine in Snowdonia - that is sold.

The firm describes the rose gold as one of the rarest types of the metal in the world.

Other celebrities involved in the trek include Cheryl Cole, Ronan Keating, Chris Moyles and Denise Van Outen.

The climb will take several days in order to enable the group to acclimatise to the high altitude, which can cause severe sickness in those who are unable to adjust.
