Tuesday, 24th March 2009 (809 views) The Applebee's chain of restaurants is to offer gold coins to customers as part of celebrations marking the company's tenth anniversary of operations in the Middle East.Buyers who purchase selected dishes from the firm's outlets across the region will receive a coupon that gives them the opportunity to win a pure gold coin, the Saudi Gazette reports. The offer, which is part of the Golden Era of Applebee's promotion, has resulted in diners winning the precious metal on a weekly basis. A spokesperson for the company told the news source that the incentive is a "token of gratitude to our loyal guests [in] the region", adding that the chain has enjoyed a "tremendous" decade of business in the Middle East. Gold coins were recently on show at the World Money Fair in Berlin, with mints from around the world showcasing the new designs that are set to be released.
