Update on progress at Blackburn gold projectThe news feeds on this site are independently provided by Adfero Limited © and do not represent the views or opinions of the World Gold Council. Wednesday, 25th March 2009 (1004 views) IGC Resources has released an update on progress being made at its Blackburn gold project in Western Australia.According to the company, exploration work has "substantially increased the opportunity to identify and develop additional resources at the project", with geophysical activities undertaken in 2008 finding mineralised zones with a grade tenor of between one and 1.5 g/t gold located to the north and east of the main deposit. IGC Resources has reported that the current compliant resource estimate is 51,300 tonnes at 5.92 g/t gold measured, 328,900 tonnes at 1.47 g/t indicated and 6,244,600 tonnes at 1.06 g/t inferred. The firm initially acquired the Blackburn gold project in 2005 and has focused on the exploration of gold resources on the property in the interim. Based in Vancouver, British Columbia, IGC Resources now plans to re-evaluate original scoping studies at the property in light of higher gold prices and a drop in fuel and labour costs in order to commence production at Blackburn. Focused on the exploration and development of its gold and copper projects, IGC continues to investigate the potential of other mineral resource prospects around the world.
