Thursday, 26th March 2009 (993 views) A goldsmith family living in Bali could provide evidence that genetic memory exists, it has been claimed. The family has been producing gold relics used in Hindu religious festivals for generations and may be proof that past events can be 'locked into' DNA, the Jakarta Post reports. Made Lestu, one member of the family, told the news source that "the hands of the smith are different because we learn in the womb - its in our genes". And his mother, Ni Ketut Asti, told the publication that she learnt much of the trade from her father, whose skills were in constant demand as many people in the area did not have access to goldsmiths to create religious symbols from the precious metal. In related news, the popularity of gold coins in India is growing, with the recently held Coin Exhibition 2009 attracting a large number of visitors, Express Buzz reports.
