Thursday, 23rd April 2009 (1500 views) Fine jewellery company Gold Silk has opened a new office in Dubai as part of plans to expand the reach of its brand.The US firm has appointed Marwan al Refai as regional manager for the Middle East, bringing with him years of experience in the region's retail sector. Nasib Thabet, Gold Silk president and chief executive, commented: "The Middle East is a significant market region, and our brand and client base there is growing." Gold Silk has also unveiled plans to launch a new range of jewellery for children called Storybook Jewels at the TFWA Asia Pacific show in Singapore this May aimed at girls aged between five years old and pre-teen. Based in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Gold Silk manufactures 18-c gold jewellery for customers of all ages and its products are sold onboard a number of leading airlines, including British Airways, Lufthansa, Saudi Arabian Airlines, Heinemann Austrian Air and Thai Airways.
