Thursday, 30th April 2009 (589 views) Gold treasure found in Bulgaria is to go on display after being recovered by authorities, it has emerged.Police in the coastal town of Nessebar have taken possession of the precious jewellery, which is believed to date back to the third century BC. Included among the items are a necklace, pendant, chain and two gold rings made from the precious metal. According to the Sofia news agency Novinite.com, the pieces are to go on display in the Nessebar Archaeological Museum from May 15th. The discovery was originally made when a burial site containing the remains of a female from the Hellenistic period was unearthed during construction work. In related news, a number of designers are set to showcase their latest gold products at this year's Coutts London Jewellery Week. The event, which begins on June 8th, will also feature museum exhibits detailing the history of the jewellery trade in the capital.
