Thursday, 30th April 2009 (696 views) Over 20 pieces of gold jewellery have been discovered in a village in Somerset, it has emerged.Items included in the find include a charm bracelet, earrings, necklaces, a watch and brooches all made from the precious metal. Avon and Somerset Police are now appealing for help in finding the owner of the jewellery following the unearthing, which was made in an ivy bush on Church Road in Yatton, north Somerset. The jewellery "appeared to have been out in the elements for some time, perhaps even years", police said in a statement, adding that the items were "very discoloured" but have now been cleaned. In related news today, gold jewellery dating back to the third century BC that was discovered in Bulgaria is set to go on display. The pieces, which include rings, a necklace and a pendant, are to be available for viewing at the Nessebar Archaeological Museum from the middle of next month.
