Italian fashion brand Gianfranco Ferre is to produce a range of gold jewellery in partnership with Damiani, it has emerged.

According to Reuters, creative directors at the company Tommaso Aquilano and Roberto Rimondi will be overseeing the design of the items.

The majority of the pieces will be aimed at women, however some male jewellery will be included, with the range consisting of four main "themes" inspired by the style of the late designer, who died in 2007.

Expected to be unveiled in September at the spring/summer 2010 womenswear fashion show, the items will go on sale around the world at stores owned by Ferre and Damiani.

Prices for the jewellery will begin at €500 (£439), however some parts of the range will sell for as much as €10,000.

Earlier this month, Gladstone Jewellery revealed that it is to begin offering its range of products through official resellers, with Baroque Bespoke Jewellery selected as the first store to carry its pieces.
